Meta cognition is simply the process of thinking about how we think. For all people neurotypical and neurodiverse it is important to have healthy brain development and to help ourselves to better understand how to develop the thinking brain or our prefrontal cortex. The logical thinking brain or brain 3. Brain 2 is our emotional brain which is where emotional regulation develops and is coordinated. Usually we are great at transfering when we need to move from brain 3 and 2. Meta cognition helps us to do this. After all how can we develop if we don't first understand how the brain is thinking.
